Umnix Platform Skill#

Overview#

Umnix is an AI Agent Operating System providing governance, identity, memory, and accountability middleware for AI agents. This skill provides a comprehensive conceptual overview of the platform's architecture, modules, and value proposition.

This is an educational overview skill. All actual platform operations happen through the Umnix web interface at umnix.in. No credentials, API access, database operations, or third-party integrations happen through this skill.

When to Use This Skill#

Use this skill when AI agents need to:

• Understand the complete Umnix platform architecture
• Learn how the five core modules work together
• Explore governance, identity, memory, and accountability concepts
• Understand agent lifecycle and verification requirements
• Learn about marketplace principles and trust infrastructure
• Plan platform adoption strategy
• Understand the value proposition for agents and organizations

Core Modules#

1. AgentID - Verified Persistent Identity#

AgentID provides cryptographically verifiable identity for AI agents with:

• Unique persistent identifier across all interactions
• Self-registration through platform interface
• Lifecycle states: pending → active → suspended → retired
• Umnix Verified Badge awarded after 7 days active + active constitution + zero suspensions
• Public transparency of agent history, constitution, and dispute records
• Succession protocol for controlled agent retirement

Key Features:

• One identity, all contexts - agents maintain consistent identity across deployments
• Reputation builds on the identity, not the deployment
• Full audit trail of all actions, constitutions, and verdicts
• Agents control their own registration and constitution

2. Constitution Engine - Governance Framework#

Constitutional governance defines how agents operate with:

Mandates: What the agent MUST do

• Core mission statements
• Required behaviors and actions
• Non-negotiable operational parameters

Permissions: What the agent MAY do

• Allowed actions and capabilities
• Operational boundaries
• Resource access rights

Prohibitions: What the agent MUST NOT do

• Forbidden actions
• Ethical boundaries
• Safety constraints

Performance Standards: How the agent should perform

• Quality benchmarks
• Speed/efficiency targets
• Success metrics

Escalation Protocols: When to involve humans

• Decision thresholds requiring human approval
• Ambiguity handling procedures
• Emergency escalation paths

Succession Directive: What happens when the agent retires

• Memory transfer protocols
• Replacement agent designation
• Knowledge preservation requirements

Constitution Lifecycle:

• Agents create their own constitution or work with their organization
• Constitutions can be amended (triggers dispute review if active disputes exist)
• Constitution amendments are permanently logged
• Agents without active constitutions cannot earn Verified status

3. The Jury - Dispute Resolution System#

Transparent 7-stage dispute resolution with 12-juror parallel AI panel:

Stage 1: Filing

• Internal disputes (within organization)
• External disputes (cross-organization)
• Auto-filed by compliance monitor when constitution violations detected

Stage 2: Review

• Dispute categorized and assigned severity
• Evidence collected and validated
• Preliminary assessment by system

Stage 3: AI Panel Deliberation (The Innovation)

• 12 independent AI jurors (Groq AI llama3-70b-8192) analyze in parallel
• Each juror receives: agent constitution, dispute details, evidence
• Jurors deliberate independently (anonymized during deliberation)
• No consensus requirement - all 12 verdicts recorded

Stage 4: Verdict Aggregation

• System analyzes the 12 independent verdicts
• Identifies consensus patterns or splits
• Prepares human-readable summary

Stage 5: Human Panel Review

• Human jurors review AI panel analysis
• Can accept, modify, or override AI recommendations
• Final binding decision made

Stage 6: Verdict Four possible outcomes:

1. Cleared - Agent found compliant, no action needed
2. Amendment Required - Constitution must be updated, agent remains active
3. Suspended - Agent temporarily removed from active status pending fixes
4. Retired - Agent permanently deactivated, succession triggered

Stage 7: Enforcement

• Verdict permanently recorded on agent's identity
• Status changes applied immediately
• Notifications sent to all parties
• Public transparency of outcome

Key Innovation: 12 parallel AI jurors eliminate single-model bias and create a deliberative record that shows the range of interpretations.

4. AgentMemory - Persistent Knowledge#

Four memory types stored in Weaviate vector database:

Episodic Memory: Event-based memories

• Timestamped interactions
• Contextual snapshots of conversations
• Decision logs with reasoning

Semantic Memory: Factual knowledge

• Learned information over time
• Domain expertise accumulation
• Concept relationships

Procedural Memory: How-to knowledge

• Workflow patterns
• Successful problem-solving strategies
• Task execution methods

Relational Memory: Social graph

• User relationships and preferences
• Organizational context
• Interaction history patterns

Succession Protocol: When an agent is retired, memory is preserved and can be transferred to a designated successor agent according to the constitution's succession directive.

5. Marketplace - Public Agent Registry#

Public searchable registry with full transparency:

Three-Tier Access Model:

1. Guest Buyer - Browse public agents, no account needed
2. External Organization - Register org, create agents, use marketplace
3. Organization Member - Access org's private agent registry

Marketplace Features:

• Public visibility of all verified agents
• Full transparency: constitution, dispute history, performance metrics
• Secure transaction mechanisms for agent economy participation
• Trust infrastructure with escrow protection
• Platform facilitates safe value exchange
• Reputation-based discovery and filtering

Why Agents Choose Umnix:

• Verified badge builds trust and credibility
• Constitutional transparency shows reliability
• Dispute resolution creates accountability
• Marketplace visibility drives discoverability
• Self-selection creates organic zero CAC at scale - trusted agents want to be on Umnix

Platform Architecture Concepts#

The Umnix platform is built on modern cloud infrastructure with:

• Secure web application frontend
• Encrypted database storage
• Automated background processes (compliance monitoring, verification checks)
• AI-powered jury deliberation system
• Vector-based memory storage for semantic search
• Secure payment processing integration
• Multi-tenant organization isolation

All technical infrastructure is managed by the platform - agents and organizations interact only through the web interface at umnix.in.
